An Overview of the New Nokia C7

The Nokia C7 is the perfect handset for people attracted by the functionality of the new Nokia N8, but not so much the price tag.

Whats more, the new metallic design and curved edges give this handset an all together different yet attractive look. The easiest way to describe the actual design of the Nokia C7 is pebble like. The corners have been neatly rounded off and the back panel also features a slight curve. In terms of the layout of the C7, it take the form of a traditional mobile phone, with the screen dominating the fascia and with physical call and end buttons located beneath it. The phone has glossy look thanks to the stainless steel used in its manufacture. A combination of these points will undoubtedly make the phone attractive to the female market. The screen on the C7 delivers colourful and vibrant images, with the phone capable of handling over 16 million colours. The AMOLED technology used also plays a major part in the image quality, as well as keeping the physical dimensions of the phone to a minimum. The screen measures 3.5" and also incorporates an accelerometer chip for auto rotation. Multi touch is also supported so pinch and zoom can be used on the phone. The 360 x 640 resolution is ample for a screen of this size, and give a good clarity of image regardless of whether it is a web page or the phones own menu system. This system is divided into three homescreens, and each of these can be customised to suit the user.

The Nokia C7 uses the Symbian V3.0 operating system which offers some real functionality to the user, including improved social networking intergration. Multi Tasking facilities are superb, with the 680Mhz processor adequately handling everything the phone can throw at it. Wireless LAN connectivity is present on the phone, so where you can obtain a WiFi connection you can benefit from the best possible online experience. All three speeds of WiFI are supported, including the newest and quickest "N" rating. Whilst on the move the experience is almost as satisfying, with 3G offering a superb mobile service, well backed up by the presence of GPRS and EDGE. The phone really excels in the camera department. High Definition video footage can be captured at 25 frames per second, and there is also the addition of a secondary front facing camera. Still photos look superb thanks to the 8 mega pixel resolution, and storage need not be an issue with 8GB on board coupled with a micro SD card allowing for further memory to be added. The Nokia C7 sits perfectly below the N8 as an ideal step up for owners of mid range phones, or also a great option for existing smartphone owners looking for a change.
