Anger Control Issues Can Affect Everyone Around You

Everyone has lost their temper at some time or the other

, and nobody fails to regret that anger, which seems uncontrollable at the time. Whether it's a momentary loss of control or a intense, long-lasting surge of emotion, anger can be very damaging to relationships, at work and to yourself. It may not be healthy to suppress it, but we can't let it loose indiscriminately, either.

If you want to reach higher level of self discipline, you have to accept belief that you will complete hard tasks easier if you deal with them immediately (no matter how hard or difficult they are) instead of delaying them for tomorrow, and tomorrow. Learning how to control anger management is one of the toughest roles in your life. But without exception, you have to start dealing with your hard tasks immediately.

Sometimes uncontrolled anger is a symptom of another, deeper problem. This may be related to the person's victimization from childhood or adult abuse, a personality disorder, a hormone imbalance, or an unhealthy relationship, just to name a few possible causes. Anger management courses may address just the anger aspect, or they may include education about underlying issues like these. Much will depend on the course's facilitator or coordinator's training as to which topics can be covered in the sessions.

When you start to feel your anger well up inside of you take a deep breath, count to 10 and then exhale. If it doesn't work the first time, then do it again. This serves two purposes, you will be breathing in good energy and exhaling bad energy as well as turning your concentration to your breathing instead of the issue that has made you angry.


For most of us anger is synonymous with the first three reactions. Since the others are not openly expressed they are not associated with the 'term' anger even though they are with the 'feeling' anger. Getting a better idea of how we respond to anger provoking situations goes a long way in helping us use our anger to our benefit. The goal being that we become assertive in our responses.

Not many people will consider that fact when they think of their anger problems. But as a witness to what that anger can do in person, it's a scary fact to think that many people don't think they have a problem. Even ignoring the pleas of their family at times, just because they don't want to admit they have a problem.

A good place to start if you think or others are telling you that you have a problem with anger is an anger evaluation. An anger evaluation will let you know exactly where your problem areas in behavior are and how to make changes.
