Article Marketing is considered one of the best ways to market your website:

>Establishes you as an expert

>Creates little islands of content on 100s of article sites

>Provides links back to your site which improves your search engine rankings

>Generates visitors to your website

SO, we know we need to write good articles for our own website and to distribute them to article directories.

The question is how on earth do you come up with somethinginteresting, original and related to your area of expertise?

We've all been there at one time or other. Filled with good intentions we open our word processors...stare at the screen...look to the heavens for inspiration... and then what?

40 minutes later we are still staring at a blank screen. Only now we're annoyed as well. We've got a 101 other things that urgently need our attention. What can we do?

How to avoid this problem when writing articles

Or, in fact, whenever you're looking to create fresh ideas. I learnt this approach from a little book that was first published in the 1940's called; 'A technique for producing ideas' by James Webb Young. This simple little 5 step process can help anybody to produce fresh, innovative ideas.

I've used it to create new ideas for videos, articles, marketing strategies...even ideas for Christmas gifts for my wife!

Here's the process:

1. Gather all the raw data and information on your subject matter and enter it into a mind map or 3 x 5 data cards

2. Examine the information. From all angles and perspectives. Are there any new ways to combine these old ideas to form new ones?

3. Forget all about it. Move on to something else, take a walk or sleep on it.

4. Wait for inspiration to strike. When it does be sure to write it down.

5. Develop the ideas to your subject matter. If unsure how, ask friends for further input and advice.
