Athletic Training Education Students Invited to National Conference for Leaders


Dominic Maneen and Brad Endres, two outstanding students in the College of Education's Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP), have been invited to attend the National Athletic Trainers' Association's inaugural iLead conference in Washington, D.C.

The national meeting will include exceptional students from around the country who have shown great promise as future leaders in athletic training.

Maneen was selected by the Texas State Athletic Trainers' Association (TSATA) as one of two students to receive a stipend toattend both the NATA iLead conference in Washington and the TSATA'sHit the Hill Day in Austin.study us Endres is being sponsored by the Southwest AthleticTrainers' Association (SWATA) to attend the iLead conference in recognition ofhis leadership role in the SWATA Student Senate . Maneen is a member of the SWATA Student Senate as well.


The ATEP, which is in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education, is considered one of the top in the nation. Students in the program perform better on their licensure and certification exams than most, secure more of the most exclusive national internships, have more clinical experience, can avail themselves of the first-class athletics program at The University of Texas at Austin, and, upon graduating, are heavily recruited. The five-year-old program is directed by Brian Farr.
