Exercise can also prevent cancer till a certain extent. Exercising at least 30 minutes a day five days a week can be very helpful. It is imperative that a person exercises daily keeping themselves healthy. Besides, this smoking too should be avoided.

Most doctors also feel that women after crossing a particular age should go for mammography once in two years and for PAP smears once in a year. This will help in early detection of cervical cancer. Obesity is also on the rise in our country and it has a close link with breast cancer treatment, especially cancer of the breast and endomerrium. Many of us fail to realize that a number of foods in our diet contain important compounds which can be very helpful to prevent the occurrence of cancer.

A few of these compounds being curcumin in turmeric, lycopene in red tomatoes, quercitin in apple, anethole in jeera, isothiocyanares in mustard seeds etc.
