Barclaycard launches new all in one Platinum card

Barclaycard has launched as new Barclaycard Platinum credit card offering consumers

an all in one solution covering both balance transfers and purchases.

Barclaycard has announced the launch of the Barclaycard Platinum Purchase card, providing customers with an attractive introductory period for interest-free and balance transfers and purchases.

Under the new deal, Barclaycard customers can benefit from 12 months interest free on balance transfers (2.9% transfer fee applies), as well as being able to enjoy 12 months interest free on purchases, making it the perfect solution for those that want to pay off an existing balance without being charged high rates for making purchases.

Once the 12 month period ends, the interest rate is set at 16.9% APR.

This Barclaycard credit card provides an effective tool for making everyday purchases such as fuel, groceries and travel, while allowing customers to transfer an existing debt and pay nothing in interest charges for a full 12 months, giving consumers the opportunity to effectively plan repayments and day to day spending.

Cardholders can also enjoy a range of associated benefits provided by Barclaycard including the Barclaycard Freedom rewards program, offering the broadest range of incentives available on any UK rewards scheme, plus a revolutionary online account management system with mybarclaycard, giving you control over you funds 24/7 from anywhere in the world.

James Booker, credit card expert at Which4U said "this card offers a less costly alternative to taking out a loan and allows you to spread the balance over a 12 month period while also giving you the flexibility to use the card for purchases if required.

"If you find you haven't cleared the card by the end of the 0% period, there's nothing stopping you from transferring the remaining balance to another similar card if required, although you will have to pay a small percentage in transfer fees," he added
