Want to start a garden of your own? Here are some basic tips to making a new garden.
For a flower garden, pick a sunny spot near the door and with a good view from your favorite window. You can begin with planting flowers with the colors that you like.
For a vegetable garden, start with what you cannot find fresh in the neighborhood.
Remove all grass and weeds by digging it with shovel. Then, start to dig and remove rocks and roots.
When you already found the spot, it is important to check the texture, nutrients and minerals of the soil. Select an area that where your plants can grow well.
Pick plants from the nursery not from seed. Smaller plants are easier to grow.
Check variety of plants that are appropriate to your garden spot. Place your plant before planting them to the ground so your plants would look good next to each other. The most ideal time to plant is on a cloudy day.
When the plant are still the pots, water them one day before you move them to the ground. Then, remove the plants from the pots and allow its roots to dry out.
As soon as you finish, water the plant to let the soil settle around the roots.
Do not forget that all plants will need some maintenance. Avoid letting your plants get dehydrated, you have water them regularly.
