You can't live in a house or any place without a bathroom
. This is one of the most important areas of the home. Yet despite its importance, we always find ourselves entering bathrooms in homes with disappointing sets of lights. Don't allow yourself to fall into this category. When constructing or renovating your home, be sure to install beautiful bathroom lighting in your home.
Bathroom lighting doesn't have to be complex. You should include the basics like putting wall sconces on either side of the vanity mirror. Doing so will illuminate your face evenly with no unpleasant shadows. This will enable you to work on your face with ease as you put your lipstick and eye shadows with delicate care. For men, shaving can be performed safely avoiding cuts and uneven trims.
To complete the lighting in the vanity area, you can also add another light on top of the mirror. A common error for some homeowners is to use only this set of light and eliminate the wall sconces on the sides. This creates bad lighting as unflattering shadows are created below the nose and the chin area. It is for this very reason that many lighting designers do not recommend the use of recessed lights above the vanity area.
For the shower and toilet areas, a stronger punch of light is needed. This is important so you can safely go in and out of the slippery shower and you can read magazines while in the toilet. The use of recessed lights above is typically recommended. If you have a bath tub, you need a set of ceiling lights that will add drama and flair into the room. The use of small chandeliers or pendant lights will make for a nice ceiling view as you have a relaxing soak in the bath tub. Using dimmers is also necessary so you can adjust the lights to a less glaring and softer glow.
