Done Deal Records filed a lawsuit against Young Money, as Blue Marley claimed to have written the same lyrics around the time Young Money released the song. The suit is, as of this writing, is still ongoing.

BedRock ended up being the second single of off Young Moneys album, We Are Young Money. The original intent was for BedRock to be the third single, yet popular demand brought it to the second seat on the album. It is the most successful song by Young Money to date, reaching the second position on the Billboard charts.

The single performed well, reaching the third position on the Billboard charts. Beautiful Liar also performed well internationally, particularly in Europe. Beyonce and Shakira won recognition at the MTV Music Awards for best collaboration in 2007.

The entrepreneurial Beyonce started her music career at a young age, starting off as a lead vocalist in an R&B girl group with her two other sisters and a couple other non-family members. The girl group spawned into Destinys Child, which became a mainstream success after the release of their second studio album, Writings on the Wall. Two hit singles from the album, Say My Name and Bills, Bills, Bills, both topped the Billboard charts.

Destinys Child began to splinter when the non-family members of Destinys Child left the group, claiming that the groups father manager Matthew Knowles was giving the most attention to his daughter Beyonce, favoring her to become a solo success. Matthew Knowles prophecy proved correct, as Beyonce enjoyed huge success as a solo artist.
