First thing is to measure up your bedroom for size. If you are a couple looking for a double bed, the larger the better - more room to maneovre around means less interruptions when flailing around. How many times have you been elbowed by your partner and been woken up ruining your sleep pattern, only to find you can't get back to sleep. The mattress is the most important factor for comfortability especially if you have back, shoulder or neck problems. An orthpaedic bed could be the most suited option to help relieve these problems whilst you sleep. Although more expensive than a standard bed, they will give you more comfort and assure a good nights rest. Memory foam mattresses are also an option to help alleviate this type of condition - they are firmer and help shape to your body in forming a firm surround for you to sleep with in. Memory foam tops are also an option which can be layed over the top of your existing mattress - a cheaper option than buying a brand new mattress.
Mattress technology has advanced greatly over the years and the variety available now can make the choice even more difficult. Believe it or not but static electric charge is often the culprit in interruptions in sleep through bio electrical activity. There is now a mattress that absorbs these charges through the fabric and results in a better and deeper sleep, allowing you to drop off quicker aswell.
The main thing to do is to ensure you try out the beds when visiting the bed centres. Feel free to leap onto the bed, lie down and test it for comfort.
