Everyone has told you this and they are right, those first couple of weeks will be crazy. Take the time you have now and get as much done as possible. Cleaning the house completely right now is must, if you are not physically able to do that, have friends help, or hire a cleaning service. Keep things picked up and clean up your meal items right after you are finished. You never know when baby will decide it's time for him to arrive.


Go on a shopping spree and stock up. Hit the grocery store next and stock up on non-perishable items. You may want to buy a couple of frozen meals to have on hand, even if you don't normally eat them. Having something easy to make for dinner will be very handy. If frozen dinners from the store doesn't appeal to you, then take some time to make two weeks of meals in advance and freeze them. I know it may seem like a lot of work now, but you will be so glad that you did.

Some other preparation reminders are to keep you vehicle's gas tank above the half mark at all times. Additionally keep you cell phone charged at all times. Due dates are just estimates you never can be sure when you will go into labor.

Your baby will grow fast, so you will want to capture all those precious memories, so stock up on film and memory cards. Make sure you have sufficient batteries for your cameras and video recorders. Charge what needs charged and load what needs loaded. This way you will be ready and able to catch all those precious first weeks of baby's life for a lifetime of memories.
