Business Customers-five Practical Ways To Acquire Your First
You have been in business for a while and you dream of selling to your first business customer
. Just imagine the pride and satisfaction of getting your first business order. When you do get that first business order, make your customers order experience a wonderful one. Make sure they have excellent customer service; their product must be delivered on time and follow up with them to make sure everything was exceptional. They may then tell their other friends and associates about their great experience with your business. There is nothing more valuable to your business than a happy, satisfied customer.
Here are a few practical ways to market to business customers:
1) Postcard Marketing. If you do postcard marketing to businesses, make sure your postcards are very colorful and appealing to the eye. Postcards are usually viewed by more than one person; the people at the post office, the mail opener at the business, then possibly the business owner. If the first person who views the postcard doesnt notice it, maybe the second, third or fourth person may take notice.
2) Visit local businesses. Drop flyers or business cards off at the front desk or reception area of businesses and make sure you are very courteous and friendly. Also personally give your promotional materials to the greeter or the person at the reception desk. They may feel like people overlook them but your kindness and smiling face may generate a sale or referral. Also it is important to make this a habit. Try to revisit the same business on a monthly basis to build relationships and familiarity with you and your product or service.
3) Traditional advertising. Put a flyer in peoples doors or under their car windshields. Many people go to work or a place of business sometime during the day. Maybe they will actually read your advertising material or take it with them wherever they go that day. You never know; your marketing material may catch the eye of a business owner.
4) Tell everyone about your business. Tell your family, friends, neighbors and associates about your business products and/or services. Give them your business card, flyer or other information. They may know a business or company that needs the product or service that you offer. Ask friends and associates to post flyers at their job or place of business (only if allowed). Someone who makes the corporate decisions may see your promotional material and want to order from you.
5) Business specials and discounts. Always have ongoing business/corporate specials and discounts taking place at your business or on your site. Encourage businesses to purchase multiple products and services and reward them for doing so.
These are just a few practical ways to market to business customers. Never leave home without your promotional materials; you never know where you will find your first business customer.
