Sometimes it gets too annoying that your productivity is hampered and you simply just cannot think straight or straight enough to work properly.

This is where desk fans come in. Desk fans are a cheap, convenient, and practical way to escape the heat without too much of a fuss. Sure, you can buy your own electric fan, but besides the fact that it is too big to begin with, you just can bring a full sized electric fan into the office just like that. Desk fans both straight to the socket and USB types, while weaker, are just the right things to have to give you that extra cooling air you need.

As mentioned previously, desk fans can be USB powered or be the conventional straight to the socket type. The first is just one of the many USB powered devices on the market today, and is a very handy gadget to have attached to your PC or laptop. Simply plug the USB power cable in, and you're set to go. USB powered desk fans are light and easy to store as well, and many also come with the option to set for various speeds. They are also very cheap, and consume a minimal amount of power so they are not costly to buy or keep.

Straight to socket types more or less operate the same way, but they need to be plugged into a regular socket to work. They are also very cheap, and also consume very little electricity.

It's only practical to have a small desk fan handy because you really don't know when the air conditioning will conk out on you. And since they are small and inexpensive, they are also great to give as gifts coming in so many different designs and styles that you won't be hard pressed to find something that fits the personality of the person you are giving it to. All in all desk fans are a very sound thing to buy, because you really don't lose anything because of the low price, and you get a nifty little gadget to help you get through the day or in the case of a gift, help someone else get through his day.
