In fact, Ms. Underwood recently starred in the upcoming film "Soul Surfer," where she plays a youth pastor and friend of surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her left arm in a shark attack.

Underwood spoke to the Associated Press, saying, "I really liked how everything turned out, including myself. I was really expecting the worst from myself, and I really surprised myself." Another place fans will be able to see Carrie Underwood is when she co-hosts the 2010 CMA Awards with fellow country star Brad Paisley. Nominees for Entertainer of the Year include Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, the Zac Brown Band and Brad Paisley. Carrie Underwood has only been married a couple months, but she's already telling the press that married life is actually similar to dating. In a recent interview with Women's Health magazine, Underwood stated, "Sometimes our schedules will click, sometimes they won't. But that's good because we're both independent." She also says that she's become a big fan of hockey and spends a decent amount of time rooting on her husband and the Ottawa Senators in Canada.

Carrie Underwood first became a household name after she became the first country singer to win American Idol. Her first single called "Inside Your Heaven" was released in 2005 and she quickly followed up with her debut album Some Hearts, which was released in fall 2005. The record's leadoff single "Jesus, Take the Wheel" was an enormous success, staying on top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for several weeks. The ballad later went on to win the award for Single Record of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Some Hearts kept reining in the awards in the following years, earning Underwood three CMT Awards and guaranteeing her two Grammy Awards. Underwood followed up the success of Some Hearts with her sophomore effort Carnival Ride in 2007. Once again it lifted Underwood to the top of the charts and kept her on top of the country music scene with hits like "Flat on the Floor," "Last Name" and "So Small." Her most recent album, Play On, hit stores in 2009 and showcased her songwriting abilities. The leadoff single was "Cowboy Casanova," which became a hit on radio stations across the country.
