Defence is a field that impresses most people. Those who are keen to serve their country, are bound to do something extraordinary. Combined Defence Services (CDS) is their goal. CDS is meant for those aspirants who are filled with zeal and energy.

This examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year. It is a common test for IMA that is Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Naval Academy, Goa; Air Force Academy, Begumpet, Hyderabad; and the Officers Training Academy, (OTA). Chennai.

The basic eligibility for: Naval Academy is B.Sc. with Physics and/or Maths or Bachelor of Engineering. Indian Military Academy/ Officers Training Academy -- the candidate should possess a degree from recognised University or hold equivalent qualification that is recognised by the Government. Air Force Academy requires B.Sc. With Physics and/or Maths, or, Bachelor of Engineering.
