Kochi is a south Indian city and is located on the West Coast of India by the Arabian

Sea.Kochi was formerly known as Cochin and is situated in the Ernakulam district of the Indian state of Kerala. The city of Cochin is the second largest city of the state of Kerala. Cochin is also referred as Ernakulam, which means the eastern part of the mainland Cochin.

This populated city ranks first in the sector of tourism in the state, as the city has a number of worth a visit spots and locations. This beautiful city s home to the Southern Naval Command, of the Indian Navy, state headquarters (DHQ4), and Air Squadron 747 of the Indian Coast Guard, maritime related facilities including the Port of Cochin, an International Container Transshipment Terminal, the Cochin Shipyard, offshore SPM of the Cochin refineries, and the Kochi Marina.

This city of Cochin is also the home of the Cochin Stock Exchange, International Pepper Exchange. Major chemical industries like FACT, TCC, IREL, HOCL and Cochin refineries. Noida also has industrial parks like, Cochin Special Economic Zone and Infopark.Cochin is administered by the Corporation of Cochin. The city name Cochin was supposed to be taken from the Malayalam word which means small lagoon. Even in the ancient time, Cochin was the city of trading spices to other lands. According to the historians the city got incepted as early as in the twelfth century.Cochim is home to the Cochin Stock Exchange and is also known as the commercial capital of the city.

This rapidly developing city has many small, medium and large scale industries. It is also emerging as an IT city of the country. In the past few decades, Chennai has emerged as an education destination, as the city has founded and established some of the top notch education institutes in the city. The schools are affiliated with one of the following boards namely, CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, IB, and other state boards.
