Changing Up Your Routine With Fistball
Stationary bikes are a surprisingly comfortable way to exercise
. Recumbent bicycles are especially comfortable to exercise on.
In addition, to comfort, these bicycles are very convenient to exercise on at home. A mother can exercise at home without needing to hire a babysitter.
A business person who does not have time to go to the gym can simply hop on the machine for twenty to thirty minutes in the morning and enjoy the benefits of exercising throughout the day. A teenager does not have to leave his Nintendo, TV, and personal music behind to exercise at the gym either.
In addition, children who see their mother exercising will realize how important exercise is to her, and they may develop the habit of exercising themselves early in their life. This will provide them with invaluable benefits the rest of their lives.
For example, they will benefit from the physical aspects of greater strength and cardiovascular endurance. In addition, there are many mental benefits such as greater self-confidence, self-esteem, and achievement of success in many different areas of life.
Exercising on a stationary bike can also help you achieve various goals you may have set, such as losing a certain amount of weight. However, a goal like this can only be achieved if you change your exercise routine every once in a while.
If you do not change up your routine, your body will adjust to the exercise and will stop improving. You can change your routine by changing the settings on the bicycle, or you can try something new, exciting, or interesting.
One interesting sport is called fistball. Fistball is a surprisingly old sport which is still played all over the world.
The first mention of fistball in historical records dates back to 240 A.D. The mention of fistball was made by Gordianus, the Emperor of Rome at the time.
The rules were detailed in an Italian record by Antonius Scaiono much later in 1555. Over two hundred years later in 1786, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, mentioned a fistball game between four noblemen from Verona and four Venetians'.
It seems to have been mainly an Italian game at one point as Goethe's description was found in a book he entitled, "An Italian Journey." Today, this game is very similar to tennis and volleyball.
One match of fistball includes several games where the players hit a ball across a net or ribbon. The goal of the game is similar to volleyball and tennis in that you try to get the ball to hit the ground on your opponent's side of the court to earn points. .
However, the ball is allowed to bounce once before your opponent can hit it. The ball can be hit with either the fists of the arms.
There are five players on each team. Between the five players contact with the ball can be made three times before it must cross the net again.
It is alright if the ball bounces once between each of these contacts as well. Fistball can be played either outdoors or indoors.
In the past, this game was only played by men, but was a part of the World Games. The playing field is 20 by 50 meters in size.
There is a center line that divides the field into two equal halves. The net is placed two meters above the center line and the net is 6 cm tall.
Players must also begin play by serving from behind the three meter mark from the center line. The typical ball that is used is made out of leather.
It is 68 cm in circumference and weighs about 380 grams. The ball is also inflated to 0.75 bar.
The two teams usually play until one team wins two out of the three sets. These three sets make one match.
A set is won when one team earns 20 points. Today the game is played by both men and women.
Currently, the Fistball World Champion is Austria. However, Brazil won the 2009 Fistball World Games.
