In 1955, the Japanese company called Yamaha Motors Company started producing Yamaha scooters

. The vehicles were then brought to the United States in 1960. Initially, the scooters of the company were only seen in the movies during the period. And because of this popularity, the company has started producing greater excellent engineering examples.

Throughout the years, the company has worked well for the sole reason of refining their products to suit the desires of the end customers who are going to use the scooters. Mostly, Yamaha has been successful in achieving this goal of creating models which are both lightweight and capable of standing up to the expectations of the customers. In the 1970s alone, the two Yamaha models which were widely ridden were the Yamaha 125cc and the Yamaha 250cc. The public was yet unaware that the company was beginning to produce a beautiful model which was a four stroke 650cc and soon called the XS-1.

Nowadays, Yamaha has a broad range of bikes and scooters which covers every type and size. The models range from a 50cc scooter to the famous 249cc Virago and all the way to the 113ci or the 1854cc Stratoliner S. Also, the V-4 Royal Star Venture is another famous model which is Yamaha's only 1147cc or 70ci. Even though it has a smooth ride which can be compared to that of a Jaguar's, it has a liquid cooled engine which puts out a sound just like a roar.

If you would like to buy the larger models of Yamaha, you need to be prepared with some serious cash. The cruisers and touring bikes of the company start with an amount of $15,000. This price already includes the accessories and the customizations which can easily cost from $20,000 or more. Luckily, if you have a well maintained Yamaha, you can keep its value for so many years. Even if you own a Yamaha, it can be compared to that of Harley-Davidsons. Today, the older models of Yamaha are being sold more as compared the new ones.

But if you are planning to get a scooter manufactured by the company, they are actually very economical. You can even buy a brand new scooter for as low as $2000. But if you prefer higher end scooters produced by Yamaha, you can spend money around $8000- $9000. These higher end models though have bells and whistles. In addition, they contain larger engines which enable them to be very resourceful in urban cities. There are still other models which you can choose from the wide range of Yamaha scooters that are available in the market.
