Banks that stopped hiring and laid off personnel last year are starting to open up the doors again. Still, they're being cautious about it all. So recent MBA grads are taking unconventional routes to land their first cubicle. They are working with their online alma maters to get their resumes into the right hands.

The timing is perfect for business schools. After several years of cutting job recruitment nearly to zero, banks are accepting MBA students for summer internships and hiring MBA graduates for jobs. The online schools are helping their alumni, which creates incredibly good word of mouth. They can also use this service as a way to attract more students into matriculating.

As of yet, hiring rates still aren't what they used to be. So many schools and students have taken imaginative measures. Career counselors will reserve hotel rooms for financial headhunters to get them to their campuses. Other schools sponsor field trips, bringing their charges to corporate headquarters in order to show them off. After all, when a few dozen young MBA grads show up at the corporate lobby, the hiring authorities will usually give them a look over and at least a short conversation. That's because the recruiters feel these prospective employees will perform once hired in the enthusiastic manner they showed prior to employment.

Online video interviews are also becoming very popular among graduates and recruiters. As such, virtual schools are supplying the necessary hardware and software, even coaching, to help both parties in this. As technology expands and improves, this may certainly be considered a growing trend. There is an abundance of information about business administration degree online on the web.

Major companies like beverage-making giant Anheuser-Busch InBev use video interviews to meet prospects they previously would have overlooked, citing the time and expense it takes to visit schools. Thanks to this tech, the cost of flying out, getting a hotel and/or conference rooms, and even meals for the recruiters, are reduced to a phone charge.

The cost is low for the students, too. Most laptops have the camera and software installed already. Further, they are usually quite familiar with video conferencing as they used it to take their courses. It's a medium they've grown up with and using it to find a job feels natural.
