Why are so many intelligent people facing the same dilemma with credit card debt? We find ourselves trapped in a vicious cycle of ridiculously high interest rates, late payment fees, coupled with over limit fees with our use of the convenient plastic credit. And it only gets worse as the minimum monthly payment is soon found to barely cover the interest charges for the month, let alone go towards the balance owed. A new program involving grant money from the federal government may be the answer for many of us, who find their only other option may well be heading to bankruptcy court. President Obama recently approved the Federal Debt Relief Grant program and that should prove to be greatly beneficial. Much of the funding for endowments or grants comes by way of private citizens who provide money to those in need. These well heeled tax payers gladly provide funds in exchange for the tax deduction they are allowed. Many times these grants are given out on a need basis and the donor may select those they wish to assist. Having a good reason to apply for help is a wise decision. All too often we get ourselves deeply in credit card debt before realizing it, and it just seems to snowball. Using one card to pay off another has some merit if the one being paid of has a higher rate of interest. However that still does not eliminate the debt, that action just moves it around a bit. When just the minimum payment is sent in every month, the interest will keep going up on the balance until your monthly payment is nearly all going toward the interest charges, and little if any toward the balance.
