We use different types of tiles in our house in order to decorate it. A large variety of materials are used to make them these materials include the clay, ceramics, porcelain, polyester, fabric, glass, stone, marble and granite. Different type of tiles our used in our houses and each tile is named after the material manufacturing it. All these tiles are presented in the market in a number of colours, sizes and shapes. The colours include the light to the dark shades of several colours and the shapes vary from rectangular, square, triangular, rectangular, octagonal, tetragonal and tetrahedral. These tiles are arranged on the floor in about three main patterns mostly in mosaic, geometric or the floral pattern. Now in this article I shall brief you about different types of tiles and their advantages and disadvantages.
Among the floor tiles ceramic and the porcelain tiles are the most common tiles and they are easy to clean as well as to install. These tiles are not much expensive therefore the medium class people easily buy them. These tiles are mostly glazed therefore they appear shining and present a beautiful outlook. These tiles are available in the market in a variety of sizes and the colours. Another type of tile is the glass tile. These types of tiles are mostly used in the kitchen so that the total area of the kitchen appear greater to the original size. These tiles reflect light therefore everything in the kitchen sprinkle due to the reflection of the light. It is easy to clean and install these tiles like the ceramic tiles. Another type is the brick tiles. These tiles are thick and have been manufactured by remolding and improving the original bricks. These tiles are present in rectangular shapes and are placed on the walls on the exterior of the house. People prefer to use these tiles as they give the appearance of red bricks.
There are mosaic tiles which are originally made of ceramic and porcelain but are cut to relatively smaller size as compared to the size of original porcelain tile. They have the advantage over ceramic tiles that they can be fitted to curve surfaces and into irregular-shaped areas with ease. A large number of smaller pieces can be set at different angles against each other presenting very different and stylish arrangements. The tiles arranged in mosaic manner appear stylish and attractive. These tiles are also arranged to form floral patterns or borders. In that case a part of the original design is formed at the corner of each mosaic tile and then these tiles are laid in such a way that when all the tiles converge at one point the original design gets completed. In case of borders the same method is followed. There are stone tiles that are originally made from the original stones but there are pores in them. These pores can only be filled by the use of a resin sealer. All these tiles are beautiful so you should select that tile that appears good to you.
