. However, in the next few years it will be better according to some. During the next 10 years, America will need more nurses as usual. Nursing scholarships are helping to fill the gap. Individual states offer different types of scholarships for students seeking a nursing career. Many state hospitals and nursing associations offer nursing scholarships for future nurses.

The government provides the most student aid. To apply for their assistance, complete the free application for federal student aid or FAFSA. Processed through the U.S. Department of Education, it determines whether a student qualifies for any type of federal financial aid programs. The website provides a checklist and assistance with completing the online form.

Next, print out the worksheet before you get started so you can read the questions. You have 3 options to sign you application: 1) Electronic signature PIN 2) print the form, sign and submit 3) sign the student aid report or SAR and mail it in. All eligibility requirements must be met also. You have to be US citizen or eligible non-citizen, have a valid Social Security Number, register with the selective service if you are between 18 "" 25, have your high school diploma or GED, being enrolled or accepted to be working towards a degree or certificate in a school that accepts federal student aid educational programs, and not have any drug or felony convictions.

Nursing scholarships are more available now more than ever in the past. Even with the recession and jobs being had to find, there is an overwhelming need for nurses. Federal, state and private organizations all have scholarships and grants particularly designed for nurses.

Unless you are lucky enough to have family that has enough money and are willing to pay for college, I recommend going straight to FAFSA.gov. You might enough be lucky enough to have enough scholarships to cover your cost so you do not have to work while you study.
