The 2010 FIFA World Cup is in full swing and many people will be crowding our nations

pubs and bars to cheer on England or any other country they are backing, there are plenty of people who are also thinking of making the most of the good weather and having their own World Cup parties at home complete with the staple of Great British Summers a Barbecue.

One of the requisites for a World Cup party though is a decent TV to watch it on, at the pub they may have a projector and a huge screen more often seen down at your local cinema but there are plenty of TVs now available that are not only loaded with all of the latest features but due to the timing of the World Cup can actually be found for a decent price.

A lot of advances have been made in the world of Television sets, in the past few years alone we have seen high definition sets that can provide an intense amount of detail to our screens and many great additions perfect for sports such as better motion handling and even 3D capabilities. You may be blinded by all of the options available to you, many people will know brands that they can trust such as Panasonic, Sony and Samsung as they have many years of experience and always produce high quality products.

Obviously the size of your new TV will undoubtedly be important to you, it is often the main deciding factor people have in mind when they go to buy a new TV set, but buying the right sized TV for your home is important as you may find you buy a TV that is too big. Some people may scoff that no size is too big, but when you buy a TV that dominates your room and your neighbours from over the street can see what youre watching you may find that your living room is dwarfed by the big screen you have in the room.

Smaller rooms may only realistically be able to house a 37 inch TV or a 42 inch TV at a push, if you have a larger room and your seating will be far away from the TV then you may be able to consider the larger TVs such as 52 inches or more. Bearing in mind that the larger the screen is the more stretched out the picture will be and will necessitate a High Definition source so that the picture looks perfect.

There are many companies selling TVs for the World Cup season and there are sure to be plenty of bargains to be had even after the tournament has ended so if you have been waiting for the best time to buy a TV then now may be the perfect opportunity to trade up!
