The first step in this process is to discover what you like. Do you like medicine or dog grooming? Do you like horses? Do you like cars? What is it that excites you, what makes you red in the face? It is your passion that will fuel the many hours it takes to learn a field.
The second stage is to learn about your passion. You may enroll in a full time learning institution, or you may go to your local library and begin to read. You may go to an auto shop and get a job sweeping floors and asking questions. The ways to get an education are limited only by your imagination. What you do is ferret out information and digest that information to build a strong body of knowledge.
Write about your research, your passion. Use your favorite word processor and write about what you know and are passionate about. Write about dog grooming and show the world that you know this subject inside and out. Write about mathematics and try your hand at one of the current hot topics in math. Write about computer programming, database design, or how to get a date. Write about what you know.
Sell what you write. Convert your writing into an ebook and publish it from your web page. Write a blog and begin a networked conversation with people who find your topic as fascinating and captivating as you do. There is another benefit from this endeavor. I am a systems science student and I study wealth and quality of life improvement systems. The more people who create valuable information products and sell or barter them, the more the economy will improve and every participant's standard of living will improve at some time.
