Have you ever envied successful people? Have you ever thought about what it is they have and you haven't? How many times have you said the words "well they just got lucky". Well I'm here to tell you that luck had nothing to do with it!

You may be thinking its old hat what I am about to share, and yes the words have been uttered a zillion times and often the words will reach a few and totally change their life. You see, after a while if you are really looking to break away from the mundane life you lead, the words will stick. For years I believed I knew the secret of happiness and fulfilment.

I practised all the exercises that had been suggested, I read a multitude of books, watched umpteen videos and went to a fair share of self help' weekends and days away. I would find myself really fired up and determined for a couple of days and then gradually I would start to come down to earth. By the end of the week I felt I was back to where I started. I would share this information with my friends and family and just about anyone who would listen. Oftentimes, several weeks later people would ask how the particular venture was going, to which I would invariably reply "oh well I had to put that on hold, I am a little busy to get it done at the moment" or words to that effect!

Eventually I started to think that it was just the certain lucky few that succeeded. I seemed to set myself up for failure, and each time was more difficult than the last when reality' kicked in. All in this entire pattern went on for fifteen years.

It was very recently my life changed. I had been on another one of my self development weekends'. The difference this time was that I had also paid out a lot of money to set myself up in an internet based business. I came home all fired up, and yes as the week progressed I started to get despondent. It all just totally overwhelmed me. One night I went to bed and picked up another empowerment book. I read the words. I put the book down and really thought about the words. I knew that the answer was here. I made a pact with myself that I would not move on in the book until I really grasped the lesson. A few nights later I knew what I had to do. Up until this point, if you recall, I used to go all out and end up exhausting myself. This time was different. I knew that the true secret was to keep taking small steps and to keep on taking action. I read the words and finally understood, this in itself was a revelation. I felt good; I studied and practiced the business plan. Slowly and surely my efforts began to pay off.

So, what have I told you that you don't already know? Well I sincerely hope that a few of you will recognise the same pattern and realise that actually the answer is simple. Read and really take in the words. Once you have done that a true contentment and happiness will hit you. Then go for it, whatever you desire really can be yours. You will hit challenges and problems along the way, but you know what, it really won't matter as in your heart you know you are going to succeed. From that point on it is a wonderful feeling, and you will finally discover your destiny!
