When you are on vacation, you want to escape from your everyday worries

. After all, thats the point of taking a vacation in the first place. You want to put all of your workday stress aside and enjoy spending time with your family. But, if you are constantly worried about the safety of your house and property while you are supposed to be on vacation, you are defeating the purpose of getting away. As such, it is important for you to consider your home security before you leave for the airport. Put your interior lights on a timer so that your house appears inhabited even when it is not. You might also set a television or radio on a timer too, so that sounds can be heard if someone is listening at your door.

One of the most important actions you can take is to make sure your home security system is armed when you leave. Tell your company that you are going on vacation and for how long. You should also provide them with your contact information and that of another person who is local in case an emergency occurs.
