The main priority of the candidate is putting in the necessary hours in job search without letting the personal distractions keeping the candidate off from his/her job search. The job seeker must think that attending for a job interview is an ongoing process. The candidate must do sufficient research on the company, industries and positions related with the job. Knowledge in itself is a powerful contributor of confidence that is needed during the process of job interview.
2. Preparing to sell Job interview is about selling in terms of services being offered by the candidate for the concerned job position. But this type of selling does not involve bragging. The candidate must tell the interviewer what he or she can do for them (Company), thereby emphasizing what the candidate can bring to the company, department or to the job position. Reflect on the reasons to buy or hire you and convince the interviewers about how as (a product) a candidate is better than his/her competitors. Maintain proper eye contact as it is one of the most important aspects of non-verbal communication.
3. Not indulge in rambling: Rambling or wandering too much through verbal communication is one of the most common mistakes committed by the job seeker during an interview process. The job seeker must listen carefully to the questions asked and answer the questions accordingly. The answers must be brief and at the most be of three minutes duration. Limiting the time would help in staying more focused and helping in providing correct or apt answers.
4. Staying positive: Whatever the direction the interview takes place, the candidate must stay positive before, during and after the interview process. Staying calm, relaxed and at ease imbibes positive attitude that will in turn help the candidates in facing all types of interviews and keeping their morale up during the period of job search.
