This article is part 2 of the article that explores the myths surrounding the choice of a career

. Four myths were discussed in the previous part. In this article, three more myths are discussed in detail.

Myth #5: Happiness is related to money and so career choice should be based on salary

No doubt money is important to live a decent life. However, money alone may not bring you happiness especially if you are stuck around doing a job that you are least interested in. If you pick up a career that you are interested in but that pays you lesser money that other career options in which you have less or no interest, you may find more satisfaction and happiness. Hence, consider aspects other than salary when finalizing an occupation.

Myth #6: If I choose a career and don't like it eventually, I will stuck with it forever

There are many people who have successfully changed their career, not just once but several times. Yes, it is not going to be easy to change your career path especially if do not have the educational qualifications and experience to start off with. However, it is not impossible if you have true interest in it.

Myth #7: Changing careers would mean losing the skills I learnt in previous career

Even with your current career, you could move to another that makes use of the skills you learnt in your career. From an insurance agent, you could move to a software company dealing in insurance software as a subject matter expert.
