Federal Government Of Canada Has New Plans For International Students

The great North has always been a favorite country for higher studies for students around the world

. It so happens that several students come and complete studies in Canada every year and some even end up staying here for work or more studies.

In addition, why not? With the kind of study programs that Canada has to offer, it is but obvious since several institutions offer the best facilities and the best opportunities. Taking this cue, the Canadian federal government has finally decided to set some more ground rules in order to protect the foreign students and their interests of studying.

The Particulars of the Proposal

In a way, if this new initiativedoes see the light of the day, several parties stand to gain. The first party to gain would of course be the career colleges of Canada. Since career colleges are mostly aided by the provincial government and receive next to nothing in terms of this new law might help them take an active interest in the gathering of talented students.

This is, in a way, good news for foreign students as well. Most of the students who are accepted to study in Canada are registered under Government colleges only. There is no dearth of students applying for colleges. Taking up a professional course in any of the career colleges will mean that she or he stands a better chance to be accepted and study well along with more students being accepted to study in Canada.

However, since the particulars of the law might end up being stricter than it is right now, many foreign students will lose the kind of freedom they are currently enjoying. The upside is that the Government might well be able to monitor the interests of the students and deploy if any sign of foul play.

Existing Institutions

This might come as a bad news for existing institutions in Canada since a very thorough background check is in order if the new proposal is implemented. The check will ensure things like the permission to actually house foreign students and of course close monitoring of the ones studying in them.

The direct consequence of this new proposal further means that students who enroll and are accepted in career colleges will be able to stay back and use their skills in the backdrop of the Canadian economy.
