1.Build self confidence by developing a skill.
We all have social crutches things in our lives where we draw confidence from. Our human psychology demands that we draw confidence from something concrete. Some people draw confidence from their looks, other people draw from their experiences, while others draw confidence from their abilities.
One way you can develop self confidence is by developing a skill. Being excellent at one thing and finding a venue where your skill can be appreciated is good for your self esteem. Finding success in one area of your life contributes to your confidence in other areas of your life. Just knowing that you have the ability to excel develops your own sense of self worth.
2.Build self confidence by taking care of your body.
To some extent, we all draw confidence from our own self-image. The more satisfied we are with the personal image we see in the mirror, the more comfortable we are at sharing ourselves. Unfortunately, we all have physical insecurities that affect our self image. Some of us feel bad about being too short or being too tall; some of us feel too chubby or too skinny. Its human nature to be conscious of how people see us. Its part of our human psychology.
There are things about your own genetics that you cant change. But one way to gain confidence is to make the most out of physical characteristics that you have control of. Take regular baths. Use cologne. Get a nice hair cut and a clean shave. Express your style in the clothes you wear. Exercise regularly. These activities will allow you to feel better about yourself and be more confident about your appearance knowing that you worked hard to achieve your look.
3.Build self confidence by being in a relationship.
One of the best boosts to self worth and confidence is spending time with a person who genuinely appreciates you for who you are. Being in a romantic relationship with someone who is attracted to your appearance, is interested in what you have to say, and supports your artistic or business endeavors is probably the best benefit you can have for your human psychology. When you find a partner in life who provides you this much encouragement, nothing can daunt you. At the end of the day, all a person really needs to develop confidence is to find someone who sincerely believes in him.
4.Build self confidence by improving your financial status.
We live in a very consumerist society. In a society where we are often judged by how much we earn and what we can afford, purchasing power is an important quality. There are, of course, other ways to develop self confidence than by increasing ones wealth. But if youre in debt, or if youre finding it difficult to make ends meet, your confidence might be affected. Whether you like it or not, your human psychology is vulnerable to feelings of self-pity and self-reproach when you find yourself constantly having to rely on others or on charity for survival. At the ends of the day, financial independence is almost absolute independence and self-sufficiency. Wealth is power. Feelings of weakness and powerlessness can be prevented by finding ways to increase your income.
5.Build self confidence by failing.
Studies in human psychology reveal that one of the main reasons that people lack confidence is fear. They are afraid that the consequences of their actions might cause them pain. For example, a man who is attracted to a woman should normally be compelled to approach and introduce himself. However, if the man is afraid that the woman might reject him, humiliate him, or, in other words, cause him pain, he will lack the confidence to approach.
Although it seems counter-intuitive to fail to build self confidence, failure is actually a good way to gain confidence. Once you realize that the consequence of your failures, arent as painful as you thought it would be, you wont be afraid to try again. The more you try the more chances youll have of succeeding. Once you overcome your fear of failure and fear of rejection by dissociating it from physical pain, youll find self confidence.
