Fond Doux Holiday Plantation In St Lucia To Add New Luxury Cottages

Five new spacious cottages will be added to the 19th-century Fond Doux Holiday Plantation resort in Soufriere, St Lucia.

The resort is such a popular retreat for tourists going on St Lucia holidays, that the owners have decided to expand and add five one and two-bedroom cottages to its existing 11 cottage-style properties.

Last month, the luxury resort was awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence which motivated the owners, Eroline and Lyton Lamontagne, to expand the accommodation.

Eroline Lamontagne explained: "Our recognition as a favourite destination last month is sparking interest in the property as well as enthusiasm to add the new accommodations."

She added that the new cottages would "retain the same unique architecture as the other 11 cottages on the plantation" but they will be more spacious with outdoor living day beds and hammocks in the patios."

The St Lucia hotels expansions will include three deluxe one-bedroom cottages and two honeymoon cottages with private plunge pools that will offer the perfect retreat for couples going for romantic holidays in St Lucia or celebratory honeymoons.

Each of the existing 11 villas is distinct and features Caribbean decor and furnishings, private patios or balconies, and modern amenities including ceiling fans, coffee makers, fridges, in-room safes, telephones, min-bars, and hairdryers.

Lyton Lamontagne ensures that the cottages old French colonial charm is retained and the authentic cottages are removed from various locations across the Caribbean island and then lovingly restored by the owners at the Fond Doux Plantation in Soufriere.

When spending holidays in St Lucia at the boutique resort, guests can dine at the onsite Cocoa Pod and Jardin Cacao Restaurants where they can savour authentic Caribbean cuisine or international dishes. For a pampering session they can indulge in organic treatments at the tranquil Mama La Terre Spa.

The luxury St Lucia resort, which is nestled into the tropical hillside, will also be undergoing additional expansions and refurbishments this year.

Mrs Lamontagne commented: "We are creating a larger and more comfortable lobby and reception area in the Great Estate house to include a library and Wi-Fi area for our guests. We are also refurbishing and upgrading our restaurants and kitchen to accommodate these changes."

Soufriere, St. Lucia's former capital, is situated on the island's west coast and offers amazing view over some of the Caribbeans finest landscapes including the two majestic Pitons in the distance; lush tropical rainforests with beautiful cascading waterfalls; and pristine white sand beaches that are fringed by turquoise ocean waters.
