Fremont used cars customers will see Honda coming up roses in the new year

Will a rose by any other name smell as sweet? We'll find out on January 1, 2011 as the Tournament of Roses parade sells out its 121-year tradition to Honda. Maybe "sells out" is a strong term, but people are very protective of their traditions and that's especially true of the Tournament of Roses parade.

Customers of Fremont used cars will see the Honda name as the 122nd Rose Parade Presented by Honda. Not a huge change when you listen to it, but likely a huge financial windfall for the city of Pasadena and/or the parade organization itself. The theme of the January parade will be "Building Dreams, Friendships & Memories", so one must wonder if Honda will have a float depicting it relationship with customers over the years.

The floats themselves must be completely covered on the outside not with just roses, but with any natural material. My city is wishing they still used more roses. At one time, well over half of the roses used in the parade were shipped from my small Midwest community, formerly known as the "City of Roses".

Since Honda has been a parade participant for 50 years, Sunnyvale used cars dealers may have been involved with past projects, but this will certainly step up Honda's role and probably get their executives some good seats as well.

Most bowl games have allowed corporate sponsorship, but with the Rose Bowl being the jewel in the bowl game crown and with the parade just as well-known, and if you ask my wife, more entertaining than the game, this really is a big deal.

The tournament staff thinks so too. President Jeffrey Throop commented, "Welcoming Honda as presenting sponsor of the 2011 Rose Parade is an organic evolution of our long-standing partnership." (Apparently tournament staff is even required to cover their comment in natural materials.) "For five decades, we have worked side-be-side with Honda to develop the Rose Parade into what it is today, and we are proud Honda is such a significant member of the Tournament family."

It doesn't sound like such a huge change. After all, we've all been watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for decades. But didn't' it start out that way? Or maybe Macy's was just way ahead of its time in garnering corporate sponsorships. Buyers of Sunnyvale used cars may not care one way or another about the sponsorship, but Honda takes it very seriously.

Either way, Fremont used cars dealers and their customers can be proud of Honda's involvement in such a classy and classic event. When it comes to parades they don't get any more impressive than this.
