The Chief financial officer, or CFO, is a person in a company who is responsible for directing and managing the finances of that company

In small Organizations, the CFO is responsible for making the financial reports in every meeting. Apart from that, they also are responsible for sending paychecks to the employees and file taxes of the company every year. Also, they make recommendations to the company regarding the way in which profits can be increased. Basically, they maintain any financial records of the company. Records are based on the way money of the company is being spent and received. If it is a public organization, these records are a must because they have to be shown to the public and the shareholders upon request.
In large organizations, the functions of the CFO also include those of small organizations, but at the same time, they deal with several other affairs. They are in charge of managing a large accounting department. In order to increase efficiency, the CFO evaluates the way in which the employees of the company work. They also have to check the accuracy of any work performed by other corporate heads of the company. They vote on matters of interest to the company. Since they take part in all the meetings, they have to explain to the shareholders the financial affairs of the company and the financial projections for the future. The Chief financial Officer shares the equal status of a chief executive officer of large companies. As a result, often the functions of the CEO also have to be performed by the Chief Financial Officer.
