? There was less stress, less health risks, and it cost less than a small fortune to fill up your car. Well, those days are long gone. We live in a world that is expensive.

Lots of schools have turned the sales of cheap school supplies into fundraisers where they offer students a school supplies kit and the school makes a little money.

But many schools do not offer school supplies as a fundraiser so you are on your own to find your own deals.

It seems that no matter how hard you try you just can't get a great deal. Although it is difficult to find a great deal, it is still possible to find a great deal on some items. Cheap school supplies is a perfect example of how a little extra work can put a lot more green back in your pocket.

Every year we buy our children school supplies. And every year they are generally the same things. Pencils, pens, notebooks, highlighters, folders, and backpacks are just a few items that we buy each year. The first tip on finding these cheap school supplies is buying in bulk. You can buy a single pencil for fifty cents, or you can buy a pack of a hundred for five dollars. Your child might only need a couple of pencils, but over the years they will need multiple.

Buying anything in bulk is a great way to save you money. Also another great idea is splitting it with different students. A group of fifteen students can go to a superstore or a COSTCO with their parents and split the cost evenly. You are guaranteed to save a bundle if you do this. Another great way to find cheap school supplies is to look for deals. You probably won't find a great deal on folders and backpacks right before school starts since everyone is looking for some. But if you keep your eye out for deals through out the year, you are sure to find some great bargains. Your child might not need a dozen notebooks next week, but they will need them eventually.

The last great way to find cheap school supplies is by visiting outlet stores, or second hand stores. Outlet stores are a great place for you to find discounted backpacks and clothing. There are hundreds of stores that will mark their prices down until someone will buy them. Thrift stores or second hand stores have great gently used items. You can find anything from notebooks, calculators, or tennis shoes at these stores. And believe it or not, some of these items are still wrapped in their original packaging.

So the next time you curse after you fill up your car or pay your electric bill, think about how much money you saved by finding cheap school supplies. It might take extra work and time, but keeping some extra green in your pocket is more than worth it.
