Future schools for today's students

Many students today do not know what it is like to live without their electronic devices

, from mobile phones to game consoles to computers. This is no bad thing. The workplace increasingly is stuffed with electronic tools. And it will be more so when today's students join the workforce. They had better be prepared. Familiarity with technology will be among the key attributes future employers will look for. Schools have been introduced to use of technology, such as video conferencing, blogs and podcasts in classrooms as part of a project . Students equipped with computers and tablet PCs, while teachers will use tools such as 3-D software, games and digital music players to teach subjects like, English , sciences and mathematics. While computers are commonplace tools in classroom, libraries for research and project work, schools will go one step further, by selected technology across all subjects.

Classrooms are fitted with interactive touch screen whiteboards. Students like to use the whiteboard because it's fun--and teachers lets students play very lively games. With the use of these technologies, English, maths and Science teachers have been able to introduce more tasks and activities in class. The students are more engaged, and even the quieter ones participate more. Beside, some schools are plans to extend learning beyond classrooms through forums, chatrooms and video-conferencing. For physics subjects, students using their tablets PCs, global positioning devices and data loggers as tools for studying heat transfer. Teachers want to equip students with the skills they will need for the future-and push for innovation and transformation of the students experience and to extend the study are as immediate community and even globally. So while parents need to monitor the time their children spend on the more frivolous aspects of electronic gadgetary, there is no question that being adept with technology is a virtue. And it is one that is being nurtured in schools. Therefore, technology must be integrated into education in ways that make sense. In much the same manner that it is adopted by industry and in the office environment to help productivity. In education, productivity means enhancing the way knowledge is imparted. But in doing so, care must be taken to ensure that traditional skills continue to be taught.
