But when you finally appear, you must radiate confidence and your ex must see you to be standing in spite of what has happened.

After such a devastating loss as a breakup of a relationship, depression may set in. This is a stage where life loses its regular flavor. You view everything from the rose-colored lens of the shattered romance. Different people react differently to this stage. Some join a club, others over-eat, others under-eat, others may even succumb to an addiction while many turn to religion. There are different coping mechanisms for this unfortunate scenario. Regardless of which avenue you choose to cope, you must resist coming apart at the seams.
The best way not to crack under the weight is to find something worthwhile to do. This can be a hobby or a vocation. You can also go back to school for extra classes in a field you've always wanted to take. This keeps you busy and stops you from having a lot of idle time to brood over your loss. Start a business or join a volunteer group. This way, your life is not on hold and you are able to survive the intense loneliness that precedes your getting your ex back.
Appear Busy
Coupled with the above fact, it is essential that you appear to be doing something. From time to time, you will run into your ex. Sometimes, because they miss you, they will want to engage you in a conversation to find out what you have been up to. While you must be very friendly, you must also give off the signal that you are not idle. Make them understand that you have not simply been sitting by waiting for them to knock on the door. Give off the impression that you are busy and cannot talk for long.
