Hardin Construction Again Teams With The Paces Foundation To Build Affordable Housing for Seniors

Atlanta, GA - Hardin Construction Company is a joint venture partner with Chap Ashmore

& Associates (CAA) in building Galleria Manor of Smyrna, a four-story, 88-unit apartment complex for seniors, in Smyrna, Georgia-a project of The Paces Foundation.

A September 17th groundbreaking will launch the project, which will be built to LEED Silver certification standards. The architect of record is Martin Riley Associates of Decatur, Georgia. Construction is scheduled to complete in the summer of 2011.

Galleria Manor marks the 11th project CAA/Hardin has built for The Paces Foundation, a not-for-profit, community housing development corporation.

Galleria Manor would also become the foundation's second LEED-certified senior housing development. Whitehall Manor in Cleveland, Georgia, was recently awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. It was the first affordable, senior housing facility in Georgia to be awarded LEED Gold.

Meeting Two Objectives

LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. USGBC LEED certification levels are Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
