Headphones report : Top 5 Jazz songs to listen to with headphones
Jazz can be a really good music to listen with headphones. A lot of people love to listen to great jazz whenever I need to relax. Lester Young is a great artist when it comes to sit back and relax. There a lot of really powerful songs in jazz history. Here is a list of songs you'll particularly enjoy with headphones.
Pharoah Sanders - You've Got to Have Freedom
This is one of the most powerful songs I know. Pharoah Sanders plays the saxophone tenor like no other. He played with jazz legend like John Coltrane. Like Trane, he has a really spiritual vision of the world which shows in songs such as "The creator has a master plan".
"In You've Got to Have Freedom", he conveys so many emotions it's hard to find a word for every one of them: rage, passion, love This is song you have to listen even if you're not a jazz fan. It's so powerful a lot of my friends who didn't like jazz bought some Sanders albums. Don't miss it.
Archie Shepp Attica Blues
Like "You've Got to Have Freedom", Attica Blues is one of the most powerful jazz piece ever. The song is a tribute to the Attica prisoners. The song is politically oriented however even you don't share Shepp's views you still can enjoy the song. I suggest you listen to live and studio versions of the song. Both are equally enjoyable but they each convey different emotions.
Charlie Mingus Moanin
This is a great to song to listen with headphones. Blues and roots is the swingiest of Charles Mingus album. The all album was a response to critics who said he could not swing. After that wonderful album Mingus was recognized as a perfectly complete composer. Listen to "Moanin'" to understand why.
Miles Davis - So what
As a matter of fact, you can listen the all "Kind of Blue" album by Miles Davis with headphones. This is one the best album of all time for a reason. "So what" is patriculary interesting for the chord progression. It was instantly recognize as both a hit and a masterpiece. If you don't know that album you should listen to is as soon as possible. It's so good you just cannot miss it.
