High Definition Tv The Future Is Now

Americans have been sitting in their living rooms and enjoying TV entertainment for more than sixty years

. But the television people watched in 1948 or 1958 1968 or 1978 even as recently as ten years ago is far different from the TV folks watch today.

In the early years, beginning in the late 1940s, television technology was almost archaic clearly in its infancy. TV screens were small, reception was often poor (there was frequently lots of snow on the screen) and there was no color, only black and white.

Yet, people back then were happy to have a replacement for radio; a new medium that they could watch as well as listen to TV was all the rage. Interestingly, there was very little programming and much of what was on the air was presented live in front of a real studio audience.

Think about that. TV screens were very small there was no color there was a lot of snow and static no special effects programming was live lots of errors and gaffes and at-home audiences loved the experience. Thats because it was new.

Television technology evolved over the years. Color was introduced in the late 1960s picture tubes and tube TV, in general gave way to solid state television, a huge advance that enabled TVs to provide owners with many more years of reliable, trouble-free service. In fact, solid state TV virtually eliminated the need for the TV repairman, a fixture in the days of tube television.

And yet, with all of the changes to TV and all of the improvements, there was one constant: the TV screen. It remained convex (kind of rounded or sloped at the edges) so that viewers would always miss part of what was on the screen.

And then, technology took a quantum leap forward with the development of High Definition TV. Combined with the new, larger flat screens High Definition has brought the future all the way back to the present. There has never been TV reception like this its as close to perfect as is humanly possible.

In fact, when you tune in to a High Definition channel, the feeling is that the action on the screen is taking place live and in your living room.

Call it immaculate reception. But there has never been the kind of clarity that matches what viewers of High Definition programming enjoy every time they turn on their TVs. Clearly, the future is now.
