High School Happiness

High school reunions can be uncomfortable for some people

. Ruby never had that problem. She had maintained her relationships with friends after high school.

When Ruby graduated high school, she attended a community college. She never really knew what she wanted to do, but just kept going to school hoping for some type of inspiration. When Ruby was 20, she met Ruben and moved to Texas. Within a few months, Ruby was married and expecting a baby. Her life was changing so fast. She felt as though it was under control, but being away from her friends and family wasn't the life she anticipated.

Three kids later Ruby and Ruben were still hanging in there, but very busy with their kids. Ruby was missing her friends and family so much, it was starting to affect her. Ruben agreed to move back to Ruby's hometown so that Ruby would be happy again.

Ruby was attending a state school, working a full time job, and then trying to raise her kids while Ruben was working in a doctor's clinic in the x-ray department. This was a very hard time in her life, because she was trying to get her career going in Accounting.

Ruby's marriage was existing at best. Ruby has suspected him to be cheating, because she noticed he was always getting text messages. She wasn't texting him, and he always walked off to answer them. One night Ruby asked Ruben what he had been up to and if he was cheating. Ruben said he was cheating with a girl he worked with. Ruby knew it was time to let Ruben go after several years of a painful marriage.

The one thing Ruby always had was strong family and friends for support. She announced to everyone at a Sunday dinner that she and Ruben were splitting. The crazy part of the whole thing was her friends and family were very happy. They had seen how Ruben treated Ruby.

The difficult divorce never got Ruby down. Ruben wanted to head back to Texas, but wanted some type of custody agreement. The only custody Ruby would allow was he get his kids all summer long. That meant Ruby got summer's to enjoy to herself.

The wonderful life Ruby had achieved kept her busy during the summer's. Ruby had friends all over the place going to their high school reunions which meant she always got an invite to attend. Ruby was so blessed to have the support system she had in her life and she cherished it. Girl time for Ruby was another reason to celebrate. She and her friends would often venture to new cities and hang out in the great restaurants eating good food. Life was very good for Ruby now.
