Yellowstone is one place that you do not want to miss during the spring and summer. There are over 1,100 miles of trails present here.

However, if you do choose to come here to explore the wilderness, be very careful. It is home to some of the largest and most interesting wildlife in North America.

When spending time in the forest of Yellowstone, you could see or come face to face with plenty of animals, namely bison, moose, and bears. If you are unsure about which regions are most dangerous, take a guide with you, and never hike alone.

The more careful you plan which trails you visit, the safer you will remain. This park is one of the most beautiful in the United States.

However, you must also be wary of weather conditions, turbulent streams, and rugged mountains with loose dirt and rocks. Before you attempt to explore the Yellowstone area, get a map and advice regarding the best regions from an informational center or park ranger.

If you stay safe and alert, you are sure to have a wonderful time enjoying the brilliant surroundings of Yellowstone. Another scenic area of the United States is found in the easternmost fourteen states in the U.S.

The Appalachian Trail is traveled by an estimated four million people each year. There are a great deal of short day hikes, ones that are appropriate for children, more challenging for more experienced hikers, and paths that are long and arduous enough for backpacking.

Here you can explore and see some of the most beautiful views available on the east side of the country. If you are interested in the paths and areas available for adventuring and traversing, research the A.T. online or get in contact with the USDA Forest Service.

Another beautiful area on the eastern side of the country is the Ottawa National Forest in the Iron County Region of the great state of Michigan. There are tracks along both the Ottawa and Hagerman Lakes that provide majestic vistas and lovely foliage.

Temperatures during the spring and summer are mild and enjoyable. If you wish to travel to the Iron County area to visit Ottawa, there are plenty of hotels and places to rest your head.

While you exercise and discover new areas of the park, you will also be able to bird watch, for the population of aviary creatures is great in this region. Be sure to pack some binoculars in your backpack and stop every so often to admire the beauty around you.

Another great region for this type of activity is the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah. The Uinta Mountains offer some of the most picturesque and well traveled paths in the western part of the United States.

There are over 1,000 natural lakes in this mountain range; therefore there is also plenty of other activity available. You can take a break from your exercise and go swimming or fishing.

The High Unitas is the largest wilderness area in the entire state of Utah. The rock found there is ancient and dates back to Prehistoric times.

It is also a place very famous for camping and outdoor recreation. The peak time of the year to visit is between Memorial Day and Labor Day; occasionally, extreme weather and chilled temperatures can last until April and begin as early as late September or early October.

Though it is a great idea to make use of some of the National Forests in the United States of America, if you do not have one near or available to you, there are plenty other places to enjoy the outdoors and hike.

Research online or ask advice from other hikers in your area. This activity offers the relaxation of seeing lovely vistas with the body benefiting effects of cardiovascular exercise.
