House Cleaning: Get It Done In Record Time

House cleaning can be a dreadful task, especially if it usually monopolizes your time

. For some, consistently keeping an orderly place seems virtually impossible. Fortunately, learning how to make your abode neat and nice is definitely doable. All it takes is a little planning and some patience.

Do a little at a time: At first, deciding to clean the house all at once seems easy enough. However, after about 10 minutes into work, you soon realize you may have bitten off more than you can chew. So instead of doing everything all at once, break it down by days. For instance, you may choose to cleanse the bathrooms and mop all the wet areas on one day, then vacuum and dust on another. Start with only two tasks each day and increase them at your own pace. Scheduling your duties helps you accomplish things in sections and prevents you from becoming overloaded.

Separate big and small jobs: It's best if you don't choose to organize your closet as well as de-clutter the garage all on the same day, since these are big projects. Although it's quite possible that you could do it, you'll be completely exhausted and will never want to go in your closet or garage again. Instead, select only one big project to save time and your sanity. Or, if you just have to get two things done, you could pair a small job with one large job.

Be prepared: If you know you'll need to vacuum, dust, mop, and scrub all in one room, make sure to have all your tools and supplies on hand. Going back and forth, trying to get everything you need wastes time and can frustrate you. For example, if you have multiple showers and toilets to tackle, confirm that you have enough cleansers and disinfectants available before getting started.

Stay focused: While it may seem tempting to mop the floor right after you wash dishes, don't do it if it's not on your schedule for the day. If you're someone that needs order and lists to stay productive, do not stray off your path. For some, jumping from room to room or task to task can result in doing nothing at all. Even though you may have been around the house for hours, you never get any one thing done because you're too busy getting distracted. Focus on a task, complete it, and then move on to the next thing to ensure you meet your goals for that day.
