5. Ask for references, you want to receive a minimum of three references.

6. Ask how long they have been in business.

7. Get at least three other bids for your job. This will help to insure that they will not rip you off.

8. Get an all inclusive estimate so you know the total you will pay beforehand. If you change things during the job you will more than likely incur additional costs. It is best to know what you want before you receive final pricing.

9. Check for complaints. Contact the Better Business Bureau to find out if there are any complaints against the painters you are considering.
