House Prices Rocket By 26% In Cambridge Over One Year-why It Is So Desirable

In the past 12 months house prices in Cambridge have increased by a whopping 26%

. This means that Cambridge has the second strongest house price in the UK, with the first being St. Albans.

Savills, head of Residential Property, James Barnett explains that this huge increase was fuelled by high earners from London choosing Cambridge for more affordable prices. A house in the city of Cambridge now costs an average of 296,502.

Not only are the high earners looking for better value but they are also searching for a better quality of life. Cambridge holds an incredibly desirable reputation historically and currently there are more buyers than sellers so it is unlikely the property price increases there will stop for the foreseeable future.

As well as people wishing to relocate to Cambridge it also has a very healthy buy-to-let market, the second most active outside London and now with Microsoft moving there it is going to continue to be a very strong place for property. Across the country of Cambridgeshire house prices have gone up by 14 per cent.
