You need to look at your own experiences, in life and online. What have you found frustrating? Have you come across a group of people who have a problem that you can solve? Can you help people overcome their problems?

Once you have discovered an area of need you can solve, you must think of a way of making a profit when you provide a solution. Sometimes you will be able to sell a range of services that link to the original solution you came up with. This means you can cut the entry price for that solution. If the price is lower, more people will buy it.

You must keep your idea totally under wraps until you are ready to launch it. If one of the self-styled gurus hears about it, you will find overnight copies of your unique idea all over the Internet.

If you need software writing there are thousands of people in the developing world who will write it at a tiny fraction of the price charged by Americans or Europeans.

Buy all the domain names you need to make the launch international. If it is worth doing something, it is worth doing it internationally.

You need to promote your product or service using the print media, newspapers and magazines. Newspapers are in the business of giving their readers what they want to read; they do not exist to give you free publicity. You need to make your launch Newsworthy. You may be able to persuade celebrities to help launch it, especially if there is a 'Good Cause' linked to it.
