Have you ever wondered where people who live far away from the big populated areas of America shop

? Do they just drive a little bit further or does it take days of travel to reach the shopping malls of civilization? Realistically, nobody in the United States really has to drive for days to reach most places to shop or a decent sized city. Even the farthest reaches of Alaska, Hawaii and the northern United States are within relatively close shopping distance of ninety-five percent of the stores. The rest of the population is within a day's drive or can have the products needed shipped to them.

When I was visiting a friend in Western Montana, she mentioned they often go shopping in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They would drive over a hundred miles for a better deal and a wider variety of products and stores to choose from. She had talked about getting a new Honda Odyssey for her growing family/ The Odyssey holds up well to the stresses of the winter temperatures in the area and with snow tires, functions almost as well as a SUV. She was thinking about getting a Honda Pilot, but wanted the best mileage for the number of people she needed to drive.

She has a brother who lives five hundred miles away and her family drives to visit them several times a year. I told her the Pilot has the same gas mileage and also has four wheel drive for the snow storms they get in her area. Since she lives on a dirt road, the four wheel drive would also help her when the road are muddy and half frozen. Potholes can really destroy the suspension on vehicles that are not designed for off-roading, so the extra clearance can be useful in an sports utility vehicle.
