How Size Matters in Business Logos

One of the most serious issues that logo designers face with clients is the complaint that their logo is small in size. I'm certain that most of logo designers have come across this complain from clients in your profession.

One of the most serious issues that logo designers face with clients is the complaint that their logo is small in size. I'm certain that most of logo designers have come across this complain from clients in your profession. Since they believe they're paying money for it, they order a larger, busier logo with all particulars probable.

The clients generally hold the misconception that if there logo is large in size, it will make an impression on their intended audience. A bigger logo does not necessarily mean a better logo. While I complete agree that logo designing plays a huge role in visual aspects of branding, but that doesn't mean the logo itself should be huge in size to make an impact.

Makes the logo busy:

When your logo is big as a basketball, it will tend to irritate the customers. Especially when you will be advertising on TV, your giant logo will annoy the audience who will take it as a mere distraction on their screens. Larger logos only cause more interruption to the audience when they are marketing. Even though you may want your logo to look high up on the billboard, you wouldn't want customers to think that you are nothing but a pain in the neck.

No space for the Message:

When you go for a big size logo design, you avoid the fact that there is a certain message that goes along with it in the advertising campaigns. Instead of demanding a jumbo logo, clients should focus on getting their company message delivered. Instead of demanding for a bigger design, they should focus on the content of the message that goes with the logo design in the advertising.

Negative Space is Positive:

Sometimes what happens is that clients think that empty spaces in a logo design are bad. They demand that they be filled with something so that their logo becomes puffed. What they overlook is that empty space makes room for negative space. Negative spaces give way for creativity in a logo design.
