Having just moved into a new house you decide to give a face lift to your house windows
. It is up to you whether you sew curtains for the various rooms or purchase vertical blinds. Once you decide and measure each room then you can go shopping.
The kitchen will be the easiest to deal with. You have a Betty Boop kitchen and want to make curtains that will match. By purchasing a contrast color fabric to go with the theme it will keep it from getting too dark as most of the Betty Boop fabrics have black backgrounds. A red and white polka dot is a great contrast for the Betty Boop motorcycle fabric.
Velveteen in the living room will look elegant. The burgundy color goes well with the furniture. Add a matching runner lying on the coffee table to coordinate the room. The velveteen is light and will let some light in without letting the chill come with it. The bedrooms are next on the list, which treatment will you decide to put in there?
In your bedroom you have a green quilt on your bed so you want to keep with the green theme. Looking for fabric you find the prettiest country print that looks like it was from the 1800 era. And the best part is that it is on sale. You find the same fabric print in a black and white to use in the spare room.
The sewing room has doors similar to the living room doors so will need a floor length drape. This room is painted blue so a light cotton fabric with white or light blue background would work in here. This room is used for sewing so a lighter fabric would be better to let in more light.
The patio looks out on the pool. You want to be able to see out easily so hanging vertical blinds works best on these windows. On good weather days you can open the blinds to see the pool activity. On rainy days you might want to close the blinds and hide away from the gloom of the day.
So now you have given your house windows a face lift. Just dusting them periodically easily cares for the blinds. The curtains can be thrown in the washer for their upkeep. When you want a change in the look, you can add a valance or a tie back of a contrast color. When you are ready to change a room you can replace these curtains with new fabric.
