How To Get Rid Of New Acne Scars

Freshly formed acne scars can be removed before they become permanent since they undergo a healing process

. With proper care during this process, skin tone changes and acne may fade out completely.

During the healing process, acne scars undergo post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation by becoming darker. Such scars are flat and cause no damage to skin. Hence proper aid should be provided during this process for the better manifestation of skin.

Do not peel the acne. Care should be taken not to scratch or pick the scabs when we feel itchy, since they protect the healing process happening underneath. If scabs are peeled before healing process, there are chances for acne to become permanent. If you do perform a comedone extraction, use an alcohol pad and drain as much blood as possible (darker blood contains junk you dont want to keep in your pores).

Use sunscreen. This helps in preventing permanent scars. Scars when exposed to sun take longer time to heal. They also damage the skin. Hence protect the face with high-quality sunscreen. This should be followed not only on sunny days, but also on gloomy days since there are more UV rays. A small amount of sun (5-10 minutes) is great for the natural healing of the skin. This is not only good for acne but for a wide variety of skin conditions including psoriasis.

Use Tretinion. Tretinoin is a derivative of vitamin A used to treat acne, fine lines, hyper pigmentation and sun damages. Its trade names are Retin-A, Atralin, Renova, Avita, Altinac. Regular use of Tretinoin accelerates the skin's remodeling and decelerates post-inflammatory changes.

Use Moisturizers. Moisturizers that contain Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and Beta-Hydroxy Acid (BHA) help in remodeling process. On using such products skin may become red and itchy while exposed to sun. Hence it is suggested to use sunscreens with a minimum of 15 SPF on top of moisturizer. Also there should be an interval of 15 minutes between the application of AHA Moisturizer and sunscreen to avoid neutralization of acid.

Following all the above said procedures will help in getting rid of acne scars or making it less evident in about 3 to 6 months.
