. Although having the financial capability to purchase some tools and services can make this process even faster and easier, you can get started right away without having any money to invest at all. All you would need to do is to find a suitable market and/or product, join the appropriate affiliate program, and then begin promoting it. While these steps may not be that easy, it really is that simple.

Finding a market and/or product to promote can be one of the most overwhelming things a newbie marketer has to do. There are so many promising markets to choose from, and so many products that sell very well, that it is almost too much. There are many different approaches that are often suggested to new marketers for finding a niche, such as picking something you are interested in, or looking for a bestselling product. Almost any of these will work, so just pick something and get started. You'll learn more by going through the entire process than you could almost any other way.

Once you've made this decision, you'll need to join the associated affiliate program. Depending on the niche or product chosen, there may be a large number of different programs available. It is not a good idea to join them all right away. Do a little bit of research, looking especially for any complaints about a program, and then pick one that appears to be good. If you make a mistake here, the worst that is likely to happen is that you'll lose some time and effort, so just pick something again and go with it.

The final step, which is so deceptively simple sounding, is to promote your affiliate product. There are almost as many ways to promote a product as there are products to promote, so this can be even more overwhelming than the previous two steps if you let it. The thing to remember here is that like the steps mentioned above, most of the methods of promotion will work, so the important thing is to just pick one and get started.

It is most important with this step that you start by picking just one. Then, stick with that one method until you make it work. For example, if you are going to try article marketing, you should make a schedule for writing articles and consistently submit these articles to the directories until you start getting some traffic and maybe even some sales. Track your efforts and look for those things that worked best so you can try to do more of those, and so you can avoid continuing to do the things that don't work. This consistency is necessary for whatever method of promotion you choose to try.

Once you get one method working, you should either work to improve that method, or expand into another method to see what works best for you. Every marketer has his own strengths and weaknesses, so finding what works for you is important.
